Hierarchy ID

Hierarchy ID is an optional free-text field you can use to store a position or code from your own asset hierarchy on sites, assets, subassemblies and components.

Add a Hierarchy ID
  1. Open the create or edit form for a site, asset, subassembly or component.
  2. Enter a value in Hierarchy ID, which sits directly after External ID.
  3. Save.

Note: Hierarchy ID is optional and is not checked for uniqueness, length or format.

Import Hierarchy ID

In CSV import for sites, assets, subassemblies and components, map your column to Hierarchy ID. The value is set only when the column is mapped.

Export Hierarchy ID
  • The site CSV export includes a HierarchyId column.
  • The subassembly export includes a hierarchyId column.
  • The activities export includes siteHierarchyId, assetHierarchyIds, subAssemblyHierarchyId and componentHierarchyId.
  • The work order export includes siteHierarchyId, assetHierarchyId, subassemblyHierarchyId and componentHierarchyId.

Note: The field names above are spelled exactly as they appear in the exports, including the difference in capitalisation of subAssembly and subassembly.

Note: The asset and component CSV exports do not include a Hierarchy ID column.
