Navigating the timeline

Navigating the timeline

If a relevant time period is not displayed in the timeline, it is necessary to move the timeline to the important point.

Navigating sidewards in the timeline is possible by clicking on the timeline, holding and dragging in any direction.

Filter the timeline

Use the filter panel to control which teams and activities appear on the timeline. The panel offers nine multi-select filters and works on both the Team and Personnel views.

Where to find it

  1. Open the Planning Board in timeline view.
  2. Select the Team or Personnel view.
  3. Open the filter panel.

The available filters

Filter

What it filters by

Work packages

Activities and teams scoped to the selected work packages

Department

Teams in the selected departments

Type

The selected team types (Team view)

Sites

Activities at the selected sites

Assets

Activities on the selected assets

Subassemblies

Activities on the selected subassemblies

Transport

Activities using the selected vessels

Organizations

Activities whose work order belongs to the selected organisations

Work order plans

Activities whose work order was generated by the selected work order plan

Sites, Assets, and Subassemblies cascade: selecting a site narrows the Assets list to that site, and selecting an asset narrows the Subassemblies list to that asset.

Note: The Sites, Assets, Subassemblies, Transport, Organizations, and Work order plans filters are only available in online mode. When you are offline they are disabled and show Only available in online mode.

Save and reuse a filter

  1. Set the filters you want.
  2. Click Save filter and give it a name.
  3. Use Load to reapply a saved filter later.
  4. Click Clear filter to reset all fields.

Tip: Your filter selection is shared across the Live and Draft planning tabs, so you can plan a draft with the same view you use for live planning.

Select and move multiple activities at once

You can select multiple activities on the Planning Board and move them all at the same time. This works in both the Team view and the Personnel view.

Select multiple activities

Using Shift+Click: Hold Shift and click each activity you want to include in your selection. Selected activities are highlighted visually. You can select activities across different rows (teams or personnel).

To control whether Shift+Click selects across all groups or only within the same group, use the Multiselect by Team (or Multiselect by Employee) checkbox at the bottom of the timeline. When this option is on, Shift+Click stays within the current group.

Using header click (Column bulk select): Click on the column header in the time box to instantly select all activities within that time period. This is a quick way to bulk-select multiple activities at once without having to Shift+Click each one individually. A confirmation message will appear showing how many activities were selected: "X activities selected in this time period".

Move selected activities

Once you have selected multiple activities (either via Shift+Click or header click), drag any one of them to the new time position. All selected activities move together, maintaining the time gaps between them.

Copy activities to another team

To copy (rather than move) selected activities to a different team row, hold Shift while dragging to the target team. A confirmation message appears: "Planned work copied to '[team name]'", with an option to undo the copy immediately.

Notes

    • Moving or copying activities to or from the Unassigned row is not supported.
    • You can select up to 1,000 activities at once in a bulk operation.
    • Press Escape to clear your current bulk selection.
    • Use the date field to move long periods in the timeline. Select a specific date, and the timeline will jump to this date.
    • Changing an available period in the timeline is possible with Change timespan. This is done by clicking on the 'Day' dropdown list and selecting either 'Day', 'Week', or 'Month'.
