Site overview user guide

The Site Overview gives you a real-time, map-based view of your site, showing the status and progress of assets, work orders, milestones, permits, and personnel in one place. Use it to monitor activity, identify issues, and navigate to detailed asset information quickly.

Key features

1. Tracking milestones

Viewing milestone progress

Visual progress indicators on each asset marker show milestone completion status at a glance:

  • Green bars indicate completed milestones

  • Yellow/gold bars show in-progress milestones

  • Gray bars represent not-started milestones

A progress counter below each marker shows completed vs. total milestones (e.g., 3/5).

Milestone dashboard

When no asset is selected, the side panel displays site-wide milestone information:

Summary cards:

  • Total number of assets

  • Overall milestone progress

Milestone chart:

  • Completion trends over time

  • Configurable time ranges (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or custom)

  • Indicators for estimated vs. actual completion dates

Milestone list:

  • Milestone name

  • Completion status (X/Y completed)

  • Recent completions within 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days

Milestone tooltips

Hover over any asset marker to see:

Work order status categories

Work orders are tracked across four statuses, each displayed as an individual sector in the progress tracker on the asset marker:

Status Color
Completed Green
In Progress Yellow/Gold

Each sector in the progress ring represents one work order, so you can immediately see the distribution of statuses across all work orders for that asset without opening the side panel.

Map features

Asset labels

You can show or hide labels on asset markers directly from the map. Labels display contextual counts relevant to the active tracking view, such as Work Order Count, Permit Count, or Personnel Count.

To toggle asset labels:

  1. Open the Site Overview.

  2. Click the Label toggle in the map toolbar.

  3. Labels appear on or disappear from all asset markers immediately.

This is useful when working with dense sites where labels may overlap, or when you want a cleaner view for presentations and screenshots.

Asset IDs on map

Each asset marker displays the Asset ID so you can quickly identify and reference specific assets on the map without needing to open the side panel. The Asset ID is also shown in the asset tooltip when you hover over a marker.

Visual map markers

  • Color-coded asset status

  • Progress rings with individual sectors per work order status (Completed, In Progress, Not Started, Blocked)

  • Icon badges for permits and personnel

  • Warning indicators for issues

Interactive tooltips

  • Asset name and Asset ID

  • An icon reflecting the asset type (e.g., cable, equipment, structure, instrument)

  • Relevant counts

Asset type icons in the tooltip help you quickly distinguish between different types of assets on complex sites.

Each section can be expanded or collapsed independently.

Cropping the site overview snapshot in Reports

When including the Site Overview in a Report, you can crop the snapshot to focus on a specific area of the map before it is added to the report output.

To crop the site overview snapshot:

  1. Open the Reports module and navigate to the report that includes a Site Overview snapshot.

  2. Click the Site Overview snapshot element to select it.

  3. Click Crop in the element toolbar.

  4. Drag the crop handles to define the area you want to include.

  5. Click Apply to confirm the crop.

Things to know:

  • Cropping only affects how the snapshot appears in the report — the live Site Overview map is not changed.

  • You can re-crop or reset the crop at any time while editing the report.

  • Cropping is useful for large or complex sites where you want to direct the reader's attention to a specific zone or group of assets.
