In order to set the right connections between sites, assets & components we suggest you follow this order when importing information: Sites, Assets, Sub Assembly, and finally importing components.

So to clarify the definitions:

  • Site: can be a wind farm, project or location.

  • Assets: are technical facilities, they could be turbines or other power plants, substations or cables. An asset consists of sub-assemblies, which consist of components.

  • Sub-assembly: a unit of components assembled separately but designed to fit with other units in a manufactured product (in this case a WTG).

  • Components: are the single parts belonging to an asset e.g Blade.

  • Power curve: the power curve is a graph that indicates how large the electrical power output will be for the turbine at different wind speeds.

note

An asset is necessary in order to be able to create a work order. Every asset created must belong to a site. Sites and assets are the baselines of all information in the tool. Each asset can include as many components as needed.
